About Claire Allen
Hi, my name is Claire and I run Claire Allen Hair & Makeup. Continue reading below to find out more about me and how my skills and experience can help you. Feel free to get in contact with me for any questions you may have, or to arrange a booking.
From a young age I have had a love affair with hair. I began hairdressing in 1999 and have worked in a range of salons both in small and large teams. I successfully built an extensive, loyal clientele and take pleasure in having the ability to transform how a client feels about their appearance. The busy mum, the soon to be bride, the shy teenager, the corporate business man, I have seen it all and loved every minute of it.
In 2008 I stepped away from the salon to immerse myself in teaching hairdressing for Servilles. From early on, I had wanted to give back to the hairdressing industry through teaching and the opportunity to work for an amazing company presented itself. While I was sad to leave the salon and my clients, the fulfilment I got from helping young aspiring hairdressers develop their skills was incredible. I held a number of roles during this time and taught all levels of hairdressing as well as creating programmes and qualifications that are still taught today.
In 2011 I decided to extend my qualifications and branch into makeup artistry. Make up has also been a love of mine and it was a natural addition to compliment my hairdressing experience. I had dabbled with make up from time to time but really value formal qualifications, so I enrolled and completed the part time programme at Samala Robinson Academy while still working full time for Servilles. It was a busy year.
In 2014 my gorgeous baby boy Luke was born. He is the inspiration for the decision to begin freelance hairdressing and make up. A work/life balance is important to me and this way I am still able to indulge my passion for beautiful hair and makeup as well as care for my family.
